Now You Can Envision Biblical Characters In Another Perspective "Icons of The Bible" by James C.Lewis

Many controversy has risen from time to time about how the real biblical characters actually look like, from their country to their racial background. many argument concerning great biblical figures such as Adam and Eve, Jesus Christ , Pharaoh among others had been debated upon.
But these pictures below may be entertaining to some or thought provoking regardless a lot of people already had this point of view even if not all of them are able to put up a piece like "James C. Lewis"
Some sites came up with the titles like " If Icons of the Bible were Black" well what if some of them actually are. Although these aren't really recent but i think most people didn't get the chance to see them
James C. Lewis of Noire3000 has a series of photos that depict some of the most famous Bible characters as people of African and Middle Eastern origins.

The series features over 80 models who identify as Asian, Native American, Hispanic, African, Middle Eastern, Black American and West Indian.
According to him, “I think it is very important to see one’s self in the scripture so that it may become real in our eyes. The whitewashing of the Bible has always bothered me. However I’m happy to now have the opportunity to give a different point of view. I wish to exhibit a splash of color onto the biblical pages of history with my creative embellishments. By doing so I hope to open the minds and eyes of the ignorant and create open conversations of how we can learn to see the world through colorful lenses. After all, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is intended for everyone.”
See more of his photos below.

  1. Love this, and this is something that not many Black people understand that this is how it is in the Bible for the original people who walked the earth were as dark as the darkest Africans to walk the earth. Excellent job Mr. David Shawn.
