After a year of massive activations, engaging campaigns, the best of concerts and tours, Hennessy are out with a new theme song and the visuals titled ‘No be water’.
The new song features the acclaimed artistry of Vector, Burna Boy and Praiz, a trifecta of stars who have embodied the spirit of the 250-year old brand and carried across her message of luxury, creativity, the love of music and crafting the future.
Produced by prolific hit-maker Sarz, the song seeks to blend all the elements of Nigerian music, with pop, dancehall and Hip-Hop, all combining seamlessly to create a thrilling audio experience, over an underlining fusion EDM instrumentals.
Burna Boy provides the hook to set things off, with a rolling chorus championing the premium cognac. Vector is all shades of fiery as he drops bars to capture the best ways to enjoy Hennessy.
“Everything nice in the building, fresh, nonstop Henny in the building, fresh, this cognac is the real deal, fresh…”
Praiz’s outro provides a soothing closure to the track, as his verse/outro brings on an extra invigorating dimension to track which has him round it off.
The video of ‘No be water’, comprises of the montage of the all the activities that marked the brand’s 250 anniversary celebration. Helmed by Lawrence Adejumo and Bolaji Kekere Ekun of 37thState, the video captures key moments with all acts featured heavily.
There are clips from the Hennessy club tours, the Hip-hop and R&B concerts, and the customary visit to Cognac, France, the home of Hennessy. Fun moments from that trip make the cut, as hypeman Jimmie Akinsola’s comic escapades flash by.
A great song, is served by a matching video, and ‘No be water’ definitely scored all points on this one. The cuts in the video keeps it simple and exciting, and the various settings are absolutely fitting for a song that is a perfect intermix of genres. On nights out, I can bet we all will be looking forward to this song and for Hennessy, this a win that cuts across a wide demographic.
