With the ninth episode of season six titled “Battle of the Bastards” rekindling the hope we have in the Starks and belief that the good ones will surely come good, it is left to be seen which of the few good men left in #GameOfThrones will survive the horrors of this season.
The starks did not go away from the battle without a loss, as Rickon Stark (Art Parkinson) fell to an exceptionally cruel death which came from the hands of sadistic Bastard, Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) who many people were glad met his end through Sansa who got a taste of sweet revenge in the episode too.
More so, the gentle wildling giant Wun Wun gave his all to ensure Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) got their Home – Winterfell back. Ahead of the record breaking 69-minute season finale, titled “The Winds of Winter”, let’s take a quick round-up of some of the stars of this epic show that may just not make it till the next season.
We apologise in advance if any of your favourite characters make our list.
The High Sparrow
The High sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) is another character that any end up saying goodbye to #GameOfThrones this season. Things seem very good for him at this moment since he has King Tommen and Queen Margaery wrapped around his fingers with their declaration of support for the Faith. Being on the top list of those Cersei plans to eliminate is one thing he may not survive if she decides to use maximum force and violence of which she is capable of.
Tommen Baratheon
We are sure quite a lot of people are amazed that Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) made it this far as King of the seven kingdoms given the evil plotting and viciousness that have come to characterise the #GameOfThrones world. The chances of the present king of Westeros surviving season six is quite slim if the incessant scheming of his mother, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and his wife Margaery (Natalie Dormer) is anything to go by. With the Faith Militant led by the High sparrow also manipulating him, his chances of serving the finale is quite slim.
Olenna Tyrell
Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) is most likely the toughest woman in Game of Thrones. Just like her granddaughter Margaery, Olenna has shown she can do pretty much anything to protect the interests of her family which may get her into trouble before the end of this season. Despite her political scheming, she just may find herself falling to the superior scheming of Cersei.

Cersei Lannister
If there’s one character people love to hate, it is Cersei Lannister. A lot of speculations are however coming up as to if Cersei will be able to survive the last episode of this season. This is because events that are scheduled to happen in the last episode which may involve her only surviving son, King Tommen may just push her over the edge. Her trial which she has been told cannot be done through rital by combat and her discovery of Wildfire may just set the tone for her tragic end. We just hope Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) won’t be the one to deal the final blow as he did with the Mad King.
Margaery and Loras Tyrell
Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) may also have it coming giving the fact that she has employed her manipulative skills on the High Sparrow who may just not take it lying low if and when he discovers. More so, there’s also a chance that Cersei’s schemes will come through which may make her want to get rid of all her enemies of which Margaery and her brother Loras sit on top of Cersei’s enemy list.
And now to the characters that are safe
With the unpredictability of #GameOfThrones, it’s quite difficult to put any character on the safe list. As it stands however, Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Bran Stark, Sansa Stark, Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister are most likely guaranteed to appear next season. Other characters that will most probably survive include Brienne of Tart, Pod, Sansa, Littelfinger, Sam, Gilly, Jaime, Varys, Missandei, Davos and Grey Worm. We sure hope we are right.
